Life happens

Nobody is perfect.

Life happens.

At same point we are all going to struggle, we are all going to have a bad day and make some not-so-healthy choices.

It is called being human. It happens to all of us. The difference between success and failure is how you handle those bumps in the road.

  1. I agree with your post. I allow myself special treats but don't feel guilty for a bad food day because I know one day off the plan is not the end of the world.

  3. When obstacles get in your way, and you feel like you've failed, the two best things you can do is to be kind to yourself, and to not give up! Learn from those hiccups and move on. You are not defined by the mistakes you make. You are not a failure. You are human.

  4. I agree with your short but true post. Everyone will break the diet at one stage or another. As long as it is just a one off it is a very little problem. You have to overcome that mistake you made and continue on with your original goal.

  6. I agree. I feel like it's in the toughest moments that we're able to find out our truest selves... and our truest friends. I just hope everyone finds something good in the bad times.

  7. I spent years struggling against the number on my scale. I watched helplessly as it climbed higher and higher. I tried diet after diet, but to no avail. Anything I lost simply crept back on once I stopped strictly adhering to “the plan.”

I was obese. I hated it.

And the diets were the never-ending torture I had to endure because of it.

I wanted desperately for things to change, to be able to move through life without being sweaty, big and exhausted.

The weight made me feel so isolated. I hated my body and I hated myself even more for having to live in it. I spent every moment wishing I could escape, until I finally just gave up on the fight.

I told myself that I was just meant to be this way.

    What a bunch of BS!!!

None of us are “meant” to be overweight. We’re just tired of torturing ourselves by yet another eating plan or weight loss scheme. We’re tired of feeling like the elephant in the room.

And that lie is much easier to believe than the truth that the diets are really failing us.

If diets worked, wouldn’t we have been able to lose it for good already?

    1. I think it's much more about how you FEEL more than what number pops up on the scale. I don't struggle with my weight, but I just try to maintain my size and I think that's the thing that makes me happy. I hope you can find your inner peace. - xoxxo

  9. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses and if we are going to lose weight and get in shape, we do have to deal with those as they arise and it's how we deal with them that shows what kind of person we are.

  10. It's important to recognize that even if you take a few steps back, it's not the end of the world. Research has found that change rarely occurs in a straightforward, linear sequence, and when people falter, they usually don't fall all the way back to where they first began the journey. In fact, if viewed and used correctly, the missteps can serve as learning opportunities, helping you become better prepared for the next leg of the trip.

  11. Ha! I love this. I agree, it is about how we handle the daily grind and bump that we call life. When I have bad days I know to do as little as possible, and not to challenge myself too much. I try very hard to treat each event as an opportunity to learn something, even when I am having a bad day!

    Enjoy the journey.

  12. Bad days are fine as long as you learn from them. Never stop pushing forward! We all slip up from time to time but it's important to curb those bad habits.
