Environment is the invisible hand that shapes human
behavior. You don’t have to be a victim of your environment. You can also be an
architect of it.
Do your kitchen clean out. Double check what you have in the
fridge and pantry.
Get rid of the bad stuff - soda, chips, candy, processed and
sugary baked goods - and stock up your fridge with healthy food instead. Food
like fresh fruit and vegetables, and lean proteins.
There is something tremendously
empowering about physically throwing away the things you are choosing to remove
from your life.
Environment matters, so make sure the best choice is the most
obvious one.
Making a better decision is easy and natural when the cues for
good habit are right in front of you.
I don't understand what can be "tremendously empowering" about physically throwing away good food. Why don't you finish eating it and start diet when it no longer is in your fridge?
ReplyDeleteYes, clean out your pantry. Go through your pantry and get rid of all of the junk food. You can't eat it if it's not there. If you feel like you can't throw away perfectly good food, donate any unopened packages of food to your local food bank. Destroy opened packages of junk food. Crush it, jump on it until it's as flat as a pancake, or run it over with your car.
ReplyDeleteIt is empowering to do something like throwing out the bad stuff....it is a nice concrete way to draw the line in the sand!!!
ReplyDeleteHi! been there done that with sugar. Out of side out of mind!
ReplyDeleteThrowing things away to start a new life might sound romantic, but I do think a better option would be either to finish eating them or to share them with someone else. I do get your point though, it's easier to pick healthy food when it's the only one you have. Plus, make sure it looks nice and suits your taste! I personally love the smell and the looks of fresh fruits, they are much better than chocolate.
